How To Edit Your Issue's Settings

The Edit Issue Settings section houses all the publish settings for your issue. This is where you upload the issue covers, determine whether the issue is paid or free, include your issue summaries, set your issue type and version, add in your issue SEO and setup your issue preview.

NB! This section must be completed first, before you will be able to publish your app to the Preview App or make your issue live.


To get started, click on your issue’s cover, and from the issue menu select Edit Issue Settings.



In the next screen, you'll find the various options available.

Step 01 - Upload Your Issue Cover (Required)


In the top-left column of the Issue Settings, you will need to upload your issue cover with 768 x 1024px  dimensions in PNG format.


Select the Date you would like to publish your issue.


Step 02 - Issue Basics (Required)

Under This Magazine Is section select whether your issue will be Paid or Free.


Under Magazine Issue Type, choose one of the following types:

Standard – issue can be accessed by subscribers and non-subscribers

Subscribers Only – issue can only be accessed by Subscribers

Special – will pin issue to the top of your app homescreen as a Paid or Free Special issue

Invisible – when published, the issue will not be visible in your app and can only be accessed via Deep Link or Redirect Link.


Step 03 - Publish Version (Required)

Under Publish Version, select one of the following options:



Native Version Only – only the Text Version of your app will be active

PDF Version Only – only the PDF Version of your app will be active

Native & PDF – both Native & PDF version of your app will be active



Step 04 - Issue Summary (Required)

Add in your Issue Summary text for both Issue Summary and App Store Connect Issue Summary fields. This can be a short summary of the content inside your issue.





Step 05 - Masthead Settings (Optional)

The Masthead & Page numbering feature can be enabled on three levels. 

+ Account Level
+ Issue Level
+ Page Level


In the Edit Settings you can manage the Masthead settings of each individual issues.

Go to Account Level to adjust the Global Masthead Settings or go to Page Level to learn how to adjust the Masthead on a page-by-page basis.


Step 06 - Issue Search Info (Optional)

The Issue Search Info allows you to add a search title, description and keywords for your iOS readers, which makes it easier for them to find your article content via Siri




Step 07 - Welcome Video (Optional)

The welcome video is located in the Info Layer of each issue in the live app (when you tab the 'i' icon). You can use it to add a welcome message for your readers giving them more information about this specific issue.





Step 08 - Issue Preview Settings (Optional)

Tick to Enable Magazine Preview.

Depending on what options you've chosen in Step 03 - Publish Version, that will impact the pages listed under Native Version or PDF Version fields.

Select the Number of pages for Native Version preview

OR

Select the Number of pages for PDF Version preview




Once all the settings you want have been edited, simply click on Save Changes.
